Post shakes due to rush of visitors on open day

Tours through the rooms of the DZA, understanding the Big Bang, making things, learning - that was what characterized our Open Day. Around 1,000 interested visitors and DZA fans took a first look at the interim location at Postplatz 1. The “Big Bang on the Road” from the Dresden University of Technology's Particle World Network and several exhibits of high-tech computer hardware in the Alte Post generated a lot of enthusiasm. 
The main focus was to awaken the astrophysical fascination of children and families in a creative way, but also to present jobs at the DZA. The large-scale research center offers growing opportunities for people in the region during its construction phase. Perhaps some visitors will be able to turn their ideas from today into concepts for tomorrow and help advance cutting-edge astrophysical research in Lusatia. Speaking of which, at the end of the year, the DZA will begin developing new technologies on the Alstom site: the development of new types of image sensors in collaboration with the Technical University of Dresden and the Fraunhofer Institutes in Saxony, new receivers with low-temperature antennas for radio telescopes are to be created and silicon mirrors are being researched as prototypes for the future Einstein telescope.
